Bro. Edward Bruce (1881 - 1968) was styled Lord Bruce until 1917 when he became the 10th Earl of Elgin and 14th Earl of Kincardine on the death of his father.
Lord Elgin was Provincial Grand Master of Fife and Kinross from 1913 to 1938 and Grand Master Mason of Scotland from 1921 to 1924.
He led the ceremony to consecrate Lodge Balcarres No.1240 on 28th July 1924.
He lived at Broomhall House near Dunfermline and was Chief of Clan Bruce.
